Here is some concept / pitch work I created for the Women's World Cup 2023. The goal was to develop novel uses for generative AI which would deliver custom-made animated content at speed and scale.
Every World Cup athlete is a super hero, every super hero has an origin story. I created these origin stories using Midjourney. I animated them with a NeRF tool called Leiapix and a touch of After Effects (zoom and position keyframes only).
What is unique here is that after initial release, these stories would continue to progress and develop, thanks to AI. Say Megan Rapinoe scores a goal with 1 minute left in the first half... The game goes into half time... Before the second half starts, a new panel of the comic origin story is AI-generated, AI-animated and then released into the wild... All within minutes... by a custom built AI toolset.
Custom artwork, created on the fly, animated in minutes, is not possible without the use of these new tools.
Additionally, we wanted users to be able to interact with the content. Perhaps they could become part of their favorite athlete's story, or maybe even generate their own origin story. This could be made possible with an AI-powered TikTok filter (something like a fine-tuned img2img or controlnet system)
As an extension of the project, we explored some digital collectible player cards, generated and animated extremely quickly with AI. (Midjourney and Leiapix).
